About
The Comic
Zero Effort could be described as a non-segued story about the need to grow up and the… (oddness? frustrations? lollipops?) stuff that one encounters in this wide world. It may even be a weird journal about some guy and his laughable frustrations with the bulk of humanity.
Mostly, it is a place to try and understand what the hell just happened .
This comic started at university. Badly drawn caricatures of classmates and professors. Low quality humour on even lower quality paper. Most of the characters owe their existence to this trying time, with one liners sparking entire strips. With time, these pieces were tidied up a bit then transferred to the internet. This process gathered momentum as I learned how to draw and write. The result is now a comic that tries to update weekly but usually doesn’t.
Chris Cusack
While wholly enjoying writing in first person, Chris sometimes prefers to write in third person to sound more… mysterious.
Chris’ love of comics began back in primary school, where his teachers found the contents of his text books had been replaced with scribbles. These scribbles depicted the adventures of a puppy called “Splot”, who loved pizza and hated Wednesdays. An obvious, blatant rip-off, this will never be shown to a living soul as long as either Chris or Jim Davis lives.
He enjoys cool autumn days, fresh coffee, comics, pastries and frequently overuses… ellipses.
These days, Chris finds himself increasingly torn between his area of study (he has a Bachelor of Commerce – Marketing) and his love of comics. With no obvious means of reconciliation available, it is very possible that Chris will sit behind his desk, frozen in fear, until the robots rise up and assume control.
