FAQ
Why “Zero Effort”?
It has to do with belonging to the general “slacker” culture. It also is a reference to how easy I thought running a webcomic would be. I was wrong.
How do you make a comic? What is the process?
Caffeine, loud music and late nights are the primary ingredients. Mixed together, they result in sketches and scripts. At some point, these are inked (either digitally or by hand), scanned, lettered, couloured, shaded, highlighted and have backgrounds put in. The specific processes and programs tend to vary, but the order is fairly consistent.
Are the people/places/events in your comic real?
Yes! No… sort of? Most of them are based on real people, but they’ve sort of taken on a life of their own.
Can *I* be in your comic?
I don’t know. Maybe? Do I know you? Are you funny?
There’s a spelling mistake in comic #blah…
More of a statement than a question, but thank you! I will try to fix that. Please note that I am Australian and thus tend to use Oz spelling and vernacular.
Why are the early strips so… weird-looking?
Sad to say, but I wasn’t born a comic-making genius. I’m still learning, even today! Those comics kind of serve to remind me that I can always do better.
Do you sell posters/books/t-shirts/merch of any kind?
Umm, not yet. There are a few things I’d like to try when I have more time. Check back in a couple of months!
Can I use these comics in my newsletter/forum/grand-childs school play?
Sure! I’d love that. However, please let me know in advance. I would appreciate some form of aknowledgement in the form of a link back… a commemorative statue… something tasteful, mind you! As long as it’s not-for-profit, we’re all good.
I like your comics so much I want to give you money.
Th-thank you? Yet again, more of a statement than a question and a very flattering one at that! But hey, I do this strip for fun. If you have fun reading it, I’m well pleased. If that makes you feel like you’d like to help out, then all I could ask is that you share your favourite with some like-minded individuals.
